My journey building a business has been quite the roller coaster ride. The sad part is, most roller coasters go up as much as they go down. Not so with my ventures building a business. As with most new people starting out in business, I’ve had mostly down times. It’s just part of the process and it hasn’t knocked me out of the game.
So Who Am I?
For those who don’t know me and have never seen this blog before, my name is Barry Overstreet. I’ve been involved in the field of public safety for 16 years, which has taught me a great deal in the area of leadership and decision-making. Unfortunately I haven’t learned many skills necessary for success in building a business, especially in the arena of network and affiliate marketing.
Knowing that I was lacking in some important skills, I’ve spent a ton of money on different programs. That’s how I got started blogging over a year ago. I’ve bought information products to help me learn how to market, how to differentiate myself, and how to get people to notice me. I’ve bounced around to several different companies that I’ve been a part of to try and find the right fit. Where I’ve missed out is that I haven’t been able to put it all together up to this point.
But this year is going to be a different year, a successful year. I’ve found a new program that has been helping me walk through building a business step-by-step from the ground floor, the very beginning. I’ve also teamed up with a coach and mentor that’s going to give me the one-on-one help to fill in any blanks and give me some specific guidance. I’ve also found a new company to dive into that I really believe in. All of these things are lining up at just the right time for me in my journey.
So Where Do We Go From Here?
As some of you may know, this blog has been around for over a year. I’ve focused exclusively on leadership, personal development, and success. With my redirected focus on my new ventures, I’m going to also switch the focus of this blog. I’m going to talk about my new journey building a business. I want people to follow me as I go from zero to hero, and I will make it to hero. It’s going to be a transparent journey where I discuss my successes and my failures, what’s working for me and what hasn’t. I’m hoping that other new marketers will find me and be able to learn something from my journey as I talk from the perspective of the inexperienced marketer.
I’m going to keep all my past posts on leadership and success. They’re all just as important today as they were when I wrote them. I’ll even write some more on those topics whenever I feel it’s appropriate as we move forward.
Join me in my journey. Follow along as I get this whole business and network marketing/internet marketing thing worked out. Heck, jump in with me and be a part of the success story! Either way, learn along with me so that you, too, can develop the skills necessary building a business if you so choose. I look forward to seeing you along the way!
Before you slide out of here, take a minute and catch up with me on Facebook and Twitter. Also, leave a comment below and let me know what your journey has been like so far. I would love to hear from you and learn where you’ve come from and what you’ve accomplished. Thanks!
